About Jason

Jason M. Shepherd is an attorney specializing in health care regulation and Assistant Professor of Political Science at the Kennesaw State University School of Government and International Affairs.

Mr. Shepherd received his AB in Political Science from the University of Georgia, his P.G.D. in Global Business from the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School, and his JD from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. He’s admitted to practice before the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

His involvement in conservative causes and politics stretches back nearly 30 years, and Mr. Shepherd has held numerous positions on the local, state, and national levels in the College Republicans, Young Republicans, and Republican Party, including, most recently, serving two terms as Chairman of the Cobb County (Georgia) Republican Party.

He has been invited to appear on Fox & Friends, CNN’s Nancy Grace, NBC’s Meet the Press, and has been quoted in publications including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, Politico, The Hill, The Daily Beast, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Foxnews.com, CNN.com, and various other media and academic articles.

Mr. Shepherd has also appeared in television, radio, and press articles in more than a dozen countries including Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Sweden, Japan, China, India, and others. 

 

Civic Involvement

Involved in numerous civic and charitable organizations, Mr. Shepherd serves on the Board of Directors of Select Cobb, an organization partnered with the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce to encourage new economic development and investment in Cobb County and has been appointed by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners to the Development Authority of Cobb County. He is also a member of the Cobb County Chamber’s Legislative Affairs Committee, the British American Business Council, the Kennesaw State University Political Science Advisory Committee, and is active with the North Georgia Elder Abuse Task Force. He is currently Vice-President and Chancellor of the Capt. John Collins chapter of Sons of the American Revolution.

Mr. Shepherd is a graduate of the Coverdell Leadership Institute (2005), the Georgia Academy for Economic Development (2008), and Leadership Cobb (2018). He has served on the Politics Day Committee for the 2019, 2020/21, and 2022 Leadership Cobb classes. Mr. Shepherd serves as a volunteer faculty member of the Leadership Institute.

Mr. Shepherd lives in Marietta, Georgia, and has two children.
